Thursday or Friday

Well, we have been waiting to learn the date and time of my departure.  You and I both.  Wondering.  Waiting.  When does Elizabeth depart Fresno, California, and the United States of America?  How much time left?  Suddenly it is upon us and that invisible hourglass is running out.  I have been informed that my flight will be booked for either Thursday or Friday.  Thursday or Friday?!  Of this week?!  Ok, so I know I have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and wanting to leave so I can get settled before the semester begins, but now here it is, and my heart is a jumble of emotion.  I am eager to get to China so I can prepare for my students.  I am nervous about traveling so far by myself and beginning life in a new country with a totally different culture and language.  I am excited about the things I will get to see and do and the people I will meet.  I am missing you already.  It is quite an adventure, with so many unknowns, and yet I am so certain of this: my friend goes with me and has gone before me and has a wonderful, wonderful plan.  I love you all so much!

Oh, blogger...

I am trying to adjust to this new blogging site.  Not new for millions of people that prefer Blogger, but new for me.  I'm not really diggin it.  Not as user friendly or attractive or clean.  I do not like it here or there; I do not like it anywhere!  It is, however, a site I know I can access and edit in China.  So here is a step in adjustment already.  You can access Part I of my China Diary blog through this link. :)
